The Democratic Club of SouthWest Volusia is a new Democratic club.

Our club was started in November 2007.

We are composed of people mainly from Deltona, DeBary, Osteen, and Enterprise Florida.

We invite all Democrats from Volusia County Florida to join our club.  In order to join our club, you must be a registered voter in Volusia County and be registered as a Democrat.

We also gladly invite Independent voters, members of other political parties, and people with no party affiliation to attend our meetings.

Our main club objectives are:

• Educating the community about voting
• Getting people registered to vote
• Educating the community about what the Democratic Party believes in
• Educating the community on political issues such as healthcare, the economy, environment, energy, and more.

We have a strong base membership and many local legislators are members of our club including:

• Dennis Mulder, Mayor of Deltona
• Mike Carmolingo, Vice Mayor of Deltona and Commissioner District 6 Deltona
• Janet Deyette, Commissioner District 5 Deltona
• Paul Treusch, Commissioner District 4 Deltona
  

We also have a delegate to the Democratic National Convention 2008 in our membership:

• Lisa Walker, who is corresponding secretary of our club
